Lexar Professional 600x SDXC UHS-1 256GB Card Review – Lexar Strikes Storage Gold

REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS

The 256GB capacity alone would have been enough for us to acknowledge striking ‘Storage Gold’ but Lexar has gone much further than that with the Lexar Professional 600x UHS-1 256GB Card.  Its transfer speeds of over 91MB/s read and 59MB/s write create a performance point that most media professionals would drool for.  Taking it yet a step further by tapping on a limited LIFETIME warranty and including an activation code for a full version of Lexar’s Image Rescue 4 software, Lexar has ensured that any future competition has their work cut out for them.  For now though, they are the leader of the SDXC capacity and performance war.

Pricing of this capacity storage device is expected and can only be described as….niche.  While it started out at a monster price tag of $999 (and can still be found at that price at Lexar), e-tailers have taken the high road and Amazon pricing has the 64, 128 and 256GB versions listed at $113, $216 and $494, bringing the 256GB card we reviewed today down in price a whopping 50%.
