Thermaltake Poseidon Z RGB Gaming Keyboard Review

A little while back we took an in-depth look at the Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum, a gaming keyboard that surprised us. Today we are looking a similar gaming keyboard, the Thermaltake Poseidon Z RGB, from Tt eSports.

Since there hasn’t been much change when it comes to the mechanics of gaming keyboards in the last while, one of the trends that has really taken off since CES 2014 has been RGB lighting effects. Putting the switches aside, prior to RGB lighting effects it was the plain white, back-lighting that was one of those features that really made higher-end gaming keyboards stand out. Now as technology progresses and evolves, we see the introduction of RGB lighting effects in almost everything that could possible incorporate a LED. Let’s dig in and take a closer look at the Thermaltake Poseidon Z RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

Taking a look at the outside of the packaging, the front showcases a glossy image of the gaming keyboard with RGB lighting effects already glowing. Thermaltake has highlights some key points about this keyboard off the bat; Tt Certified Brown mechanical switches that provide a tactile feel, as well as a five year warranty.

As we jump over to the back side of the keyboard, we are shown a few more details as to what we will find on the keyboard and highlights of the Poseidon Z software.

Inside the packaging, you will obviously find the Thermaltake Poseidon Z RGB mechanical gaming keyboard, as well as the quick installation guide and warranty card. You can see that the Poseidon Z RGB is wrapped up tight with bubble wrap to provide some protection in transit.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPONENTS

The RGB backlighting built into the Poseidon Z RGB is capable of pumping out the complete 16.8 million color RGB spectrum to each individual LED. As we will see later on, the keyboards capable of some  gorgeous light shows that really make your mechanical gaming keyboard pop. Additionally, they have made the back plate for which each key sits on mirrored, providing an even more eye-popping experience.
