Pulling a direct comparison from Patriot Viper’s V360 7.1 Surround Sound Headphones, the V370’s are quite similar in many ways. First off we can do a direct hardware comparison, seen here, and see that nearly every aspect of these devices, even the microphone, is exactly the same. With that being said, it’s not the hardware here that had taken any major steps forward but he program itself.

With so many options to fiddle and play with to finely tune the audio playback to nearly any specification, this headset becomes quite versatile. Now, keep in mind that these aren’t top of the line headphones; the audio playback is more-or-less what we expected. Not overly powerful, aside from the bass, the tweaks the program provides can only alter the overall experience so far. These aren’t ridiculously expensive headphones so any amount of tweaking and fine tuning you perform within the program will only make the listening experience noticeably, although not drastically, better.

These headphones will never be able to surpass the truly high end performers on the market today, but for only $70 you can really push these headphones past their budgeted performance and really make them stand out.

Patriot’s intention here clearly wasn’t set within the hardware of the headphones, but the software. This development path created an improved headphone peripheral with superior flexibility in terms of tweaking and customization, within the provided software. The downfall to this development path is producing a product that has, overall, the same sound replication capabilities as its older models. Sure, any user may tweak the headphones performance to better produce the sound they are looking for, but these tweaks will only go so far.

For only $70, these are a fantastic pair of headphones that when optimized properly, can replicate the performance of much pricier headphones. That being said, again, these tweaks can only do so much. If you are a true audiophile, then these budget gaming headphones aren’t for you. If you are a person who would rather save a few dollars and still pick up some powerful peripherals, then maybe Patriot Viper V370 Gaming Headset is exactly what you are looking for.
