REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS
Is having a touch screen fan controller all it’s hyped up to be? To give you an answer in one word – YES! Prior to your first fan controller, you would have no idea the benefits of having this much control. Being able to quickly analyze the temperature, adjust specific fans and keep gaming was beyond perfect!
For us, having two Riing 12 case fans attached to our AIO CPU cooler, while controlled through the Commander FT, while for demonstration purpose, proved excellent! We kept an eye on internal hardware temperatures using AIDA64 Engineer, which proved that our motherboard temperature was almost spot on with the Commander FT’s temperature readings. One, small, item we would have liked to have seen is some instruction as to where to place the temperature sensor probe. While this may seem like a minute detail for those with past experience, those who may be new to system builds may like some additional tips. For us, we found that our probe was best placed above the memory on the chassis. What we found is this gave us a more accurate ambient temperature reading.
The Commander FT Touch Screen Fan Controller and the Riing Case Fans are not only aesthetically pleasing, but perform exceptionally! The Riing Case Fans proved that they could keep up to pretty much any task and the Commander FT was able to keep the chassis temperature in check! All in all, these two are a solid purchase and an easy upgrade to any gaming system. For these reasons, we easily award Thermaltake our Editor’s Choice Award.

Taking Cool to a Whole New Level!
The Thermaltake Commander FT was possibly the best piece of technology we have seen so far in 2015. The Riing 12 cooling fans proved to be solid performers and pair up exceptionally with the Commander FT touch screen fan controller!
While the touch screen is rather pleasant to the eye; this fan controller – and the many others that try be the best – can’t hold a candle to Lamptron.
Lamptron is the only manufacturer I’ve seen (and owned) that can handle 30+ watts of power per channel; great for powering numerous fans (even the now discontinued Triebwerk fans), and powering a D5 Laing and/ or a DDC pump without a problem,
So if Thermaltake (or the others) want my hard-earned cash, then they’re going to have to do better than what they’re currently offering.
