THERMALTAKE WATER 3.0 RIING RGB 240 CPU COOLER
Last, but not least, is our newly upgraded CPU cooler. While it was difficult for us to get rid of our ‘good ole reliable’ all-in-one CPU cooler, we were immensely impressed the more we saw of the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Riing 240 CPU Cooler.
The purpose of this upgrade was to move into a more recent cooler, that added to pizazz to our test bench. As you may recall, a while back we reviewed the original Riing chassis fans. As you could imagine, much has changed since as the Riing’s are now RGB capable.
Taking a look at the exterior of the packaging, you can see that the Water 3.0 Riing 240 has a similar look and feel to the Toughpower DPS G PSU. The front again flaunts the product, providing just a glimpse of the product specifications.
Meanwhile on the flip side, you can read more in-depth as to the features and specifications.
Once we start opening up the packaging we are greeted by the CPU cooler tucked away neatly in a cardboard container. Inside of which you will find all the necessary components to mount the CPU cooler onto both Intel and AMD CPU’s.
You are also greeted by two Riing 12 LED RGB 256 Colors Radiator Fans. These are capable of producing 256 different colors to suit your flavour of the day. This will match well with our Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum and our i-rocks RGB gaming mouse.
Thermaltake has taken much pride in ensuring that the design of fan is not only aesthetic, but also practical. With a wind blocker frame, concentrated compression blade and hydraulic bearings, you will not be lacking in performance. You also won’t have to worry about noise with the low-noise design of the hydraulic bearings and anti-vibration mounting system.
Also with the CPU cooler, you will receive the smart fan controller. Thermaltake says it best by that the unit is “a self-contained fan controller can switch between 5 LED modes including solid colors of red, blue, white, green or disable and cycle through 256 colors. Play/Pause functions allow users to cycle colors (color remains unchanged until click Play/Pause button again) with speed control options reduce noise even more all from your fingertips.”
We agree completely, but we have some suggestions. Hang tight until our report analysis and you can find out more.
The radiator is your typical look and style of that of a AIO CPU cooler. Thermaltake notes this radiator is designed for high efficiency, which accompanies the durable braided tubing and reliable pump. Oh and don’t forget the colors!
