Singlecue Review – Touch-Free Smart Home Control

Upon receipt of notification that our Singlecue was on the way we were quite excited. This was definitely one of the stand outs from Pepcom/CES 2016 to us and one product we were very interested in reviewing.  Singlecue is a smart home product that claims the ability to control all your smart home devices with a single finger (cue).

OVERVIEW

Singlecue is brought to you by eyeSight Technologies Ltd. their aim is to allow you the consumer the ability to control your daily devices with touch-free gestures such as the swipe of a hand or point of the finger. The development of this technology is a must for the future of the smart home. In the case of Singlecue you’ll never have to worry about misplacing the remote again as it will be attached to you.

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

 The packaging for the Singlecue is great as it is quite appealing. The box is black with a blue bar from the interior packaging exposed and a shell with some advertising and a photo of Singlecue in action. Slide off the shell and you’ll see the Singlecue logo exposed.

The packaging is quite simple but we love it. Touch of modern is how we’d classify it. When you lift the top off you’ll be face to face with Singlecue. There’s a protective tape covering the unit. It instructs you to get the app and shows the availability on iPhone or Android devices. It also shows what the App icon looks like just in case you’re unsure if you’re getting the right one. When we searched it was the only option when you type Singlecue so there should be no issues there. When you remove the unit you’ll be able to lift the blue box out and contained in that is the power cable, an extension for the power cable if needed as well as the manual and warranty information.

SETUP

Getting the Singlecue up and ready to play is as simple as it gets. Plug it in and then place it where you want it. The base of the unit is very sturdy so you don’t have to worry about it falling out of place. For placing the Singlecue on top of your TV there is a lip at the bottom front which keeps from Singlecue falling behind your TV. We used the Samsung JU6700 Series 55″-Class 4K Smart Curved LED TV and it works perfectly sitting on top. So curved or not it should fit your TV.
