INTERIOR AND FUNCTIONALITY
Starting with an overview of the front chassis components, specifically the three 5.25” drive bays, we notice the use of smart one-click bay covers. These covers allow quick access to the use of the 5.25” drive bay with ease when installing components onto the chassis. Ease of installation of a 5.25” drive can be further noticed on the inside of the chassis, where spring loaded locking clips provide tool-free installation of 5.25” drives in mere seconds.
The 2.5” and 3.5” drive bays utilize the rail slide rack technology, allowing quick access to the drive bays by literally sliding the required drives in and out with ease. This allows the drive to not have to rest upon plastic holders which cradle the drive, but rather bind the sides of the drive to the metal chassis itself. The rail slide technology provides increased anti-shock rigidity to the drives, compared to the plastic housings used by other chassis manufacturers.
The Cobra further boasts three 3.5” hard drive bays as well as four 2.5” SSD bays and is able to support up to a standard ATX motherboard (10”x12”), allowing the case to be multi-functional for a wide range of computational uses.
Behind the chassis louvers is a 120mm (clear plastic) greenish-cyan LED-illuminated fan which is one of two 120mm fans included, as the second fan is located on the top rear of the chassis. Another fan would have been preferred at the top for additional value and cooling performance.
The Cobra has seven PCI expansion slots at the back, including a ventilation grill placed directly beside for increased airflow. As with most cases, the power supply section is found right at the bottom:
