The chassis is jet black in colour with a powder-coated matte finish on the metal chassis providing a much more durable and rugged surface to prevent scratches. It would have been nice to see a little more colour on the metal chassis itself, rather than just obtaining the colour from the LED back-glow.
Below the three 5.25” drive bays are mounted USB ports, specifically a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 port. Two audio ports are also front mounted for both headphone and microphone ports, providing the gamer easy access to those essential ports required for gaming. Indicator LEDs, I/O, and a manual reset button are also front mounted. Two USB 3.0 ports would have been much more appealing here, rather than one 2.0 and one 3.0.
On the bottom of the chassis, the installation of rubber feet with a felt bottom provide a non-scratch and low-vibration alternative to those hard rubber or plastic feet that many other chassis manufacturers utilize.
The thumbscrew-locked sides of the case flange out in the middle due to the increase in width of the chassis. One side contains a square smoked plexiglass window which allows for the green LED back-glow to further enhance the Cobra chassis. The other side of the chassis does not contain any window and contains only the flanging as seen on the other side as well.
