INTERIOR
To open the case there are 2 thumb screws on each side, which are captive and stay in place when the side panels are off. This will make searching for thumb screws after opening up the case a non-issue.
Inside the case we can see the NZXT S340’s separated chamber design, making cable management easier and helping airflow throughout the case.
The chassis supports Full size ATX, Micro ATX and M-ITX motherboards and a nice big cutout for installing aftermarket cooling. Although the clearance for CPU Coolers is only 161mm or 6.33 inches. This is barely enough for the Hyper 212 Evo, one of the more popular CPU Coolers available. The Phanteks PH-TC12LS that we reviewed recently will fit fine as will most low profile CPU coolers. Graphics cards up to 364mm can fit without a radiator in the front.
Moving on NZXT also has this bracket for keeping cable management tidy, although you won’t have to use it (we didn’t to illustrate this point) as there is more than enough space to hide the cables in front of the PSU.
Here we also see the mounting brackets for 2.5 inch drives and the cutouts for routing SATA cables. We would recommend keeping a screwdriver handy as the thumbscrews are on rather tight from the factory.
There is support for 2 3.5 inch HDD’s in the cage here and a 3rd one below the cage mounted to the bottom of the case directly. One of the pet peeves we had with this case is how loud the drives got due to the lack of any rubber or dampening materials, we would imagine that a drive mounted directly to the case would be even louder.
Finally let’s get into our air and water cooling options. The front can support 2 140 or 120mm fans, the rear supports a single 120mm fan and the top supports a 140 or 120mm fan. The rear can support a single 120mm radiator like the Kraken X31 and the front can support a dual radiator like the Kraken x61 We would recommend using water cooling as this case was designed with radiators in mind.

A Great Case!
The NZXT S340 is a very solid and recommended case. While it is not perfect, it is still a strong contender for best case under $70!
