PCMARK VANTAGE PROFESSIONAL X64 VER. 1.0.2.0
PCMark Vantage measures PCMarks as an indicator of performance across a variety of common tasks such as viewing and editing photos, video, music and other media, gaming, communications, productivity and security.
A score of over 70000 for PCM is considered high, and easily implants the drive under testing as the top 5% in performance. The Crucial M500 480GB conclusively falls into this upper echelon of leading-edge SSDs.
REAL-WORLD BENCHMARKS
Moving on to the real-world tests, we see that the Marvell 88SS9187 chip is more than capable of boosting overall productivity. The file copy results are pretty quick for duplicating and moving around data:
Load times on a clean system are really darn fast as well:
Keep in mind that Steam is in auto-login mode, so these results are even more impressive. SSD-to-SSD file transfer is one thing, but being able to load into Steam about six seconds from the Windows load screen is astounding to say the least.
Amazing review Deepak. Must be good as you got linked by Engadget whereas…well…TSSDR never. eheheh.
Heh thanks Les appreciate it. Great 960GB review from yourself!
Can’t blame you two for the cheery mood! Both reviews are great, and I am very cheerful as well! 60 Cents/GB for a 3rd gen Marvel SSD, and at 960 GB capacity, means -for the first time- high-end rigs can be built without mechanical drives!
Too true Luay, too true!
What is it about SMART attributesAA and C4, new drive failing?!
I like this review of that powerful Crucial M500 480GB SSD
