Cougar Armor Gaming Chair Review

Something we have been long awaiting from Cougar finally came to us at TechX this week. The Cougar Armor gaming chair. Some of you might recall this mention from our CES 2017 and Computex mentions, but today we are going to get the full experience from the box to comfortably gaming.

Packaging, Contents, and Pricing

The Armor chair is packaged in a vanilla cardboard with black undertones that highlight the look at some of the features of this chair. Not a retail ready package but once again as we found with a lot of chassis’, something this outstanding doesn’t really need the extra advertising.

The chair comes complete with everything needed to get this gorgeous piece of kit up and running.

First thing when you open the box you’ll see the base as well as the cushions for the chair. Removing those pieces as well as the arm rests you’ll be able to reach the second layer which is the back for the chair.

This is where you start to get those warm and fuzzies as the orange on black just make this chair look outstanding and just so happen to match with our colouring here.

Finally the bottom layer will expose the seat as well as two boxes; one contains the base attachment and the other contains instructions, the wheels and the rest of the remaining hardware and pieces.

Assembly

Assembling the Armor chair was actually quite simple and the instructions are very easy to follow.

The first step in our opinion was the hardest, even though it wasn’t that difficult. This initial step requires you to attach the seat and the back of the chair.

Be careful during this step as it is a tight wiggle the left side in after the right side is secured. It almost felt like it wasn’t meant to fit or that our parts were affected during transport but nope, they weren’t and with a little patience and time it fit perfectly and there were no rips or wearing on the leather.

After securing the two pieces together you can put the plastic covers over and secure those giving the chair a cleaner more aesthetically pleasing look.

After that you’ll invert the chair and secure the arm rests which is simple enough with two screws for each rest on the underside. Make sure to use the two out-most holes as the inner ones are for mounting the base, as seen below.

Once you have that you simple pop the wheels in the base and insert the piston which raises/lowers the chair line it up and bam! You’re ready to sit! Add the cushions for some extra back and neck support and you’re in the comfort zone!

As you can see the final product is nothing short of outstanding!
