BENCHMARKS
MEMORY BANDWIDTH
For bench-marking memory bandwidth we use AIDA64’s ‘Cache and Memory Benchmark’
As we can see our memory bandwidth performance has increased quite a bit on our overclocked configuration when compared to stock. While this isn’t the best performance we’ve seen out of a memory kit, it is within reason.
MEMORY LATENCY
For bench-marking memory latency we use AIDA64’s ‘Cache and Memory Benchmark’
Like bandwidth, memory latency has improved substantially with our overclocked configuration. That being said, it is still falling behind other kits we’ve tested quite a bit.
CINEBENCH R15
Maxon’s Cinebench is a benchmarking tool based on their Cinema 4D software. It measures CPU performance by rendering a photo realistic 3D scene.
Our performance with Cinebench is actually pretty good, and surprisingly fairly consistent across all the configurations. Very interesting.
WINRAR
WinRAR is easily the most well-known file archiving program. In our test we use the application’s built-in benchmark utility in order to determine memory performance.
WinRAR always seems to be mostly CPU limited, while there is some variance between each configuration, it isn’t enough to even think about memory bottlenecks.
7-ZIP
7-Zip is an open-source, completely free file archiving application which utilizes LZMA2 compression. We use their built-in bench-marking utility to measure our systems performance when compressing files.
Here we can see a slightly larger variance than with WinRAR, our overclocked configuration seems to be nearly 1 megabytes per second faster than the others. This is also in line with other kits we’ve tested, which shows that like WinRAR, 7-Zip is going to be more CPU limited than anything.

A Good Kit!
the ADATA XPG Z1 offers respectable performance, some low-level overclocking and a rather cool design, and for the right price is a very appealing memory kit.
looks like you might have Samsung chips have you tried trd tcrp 16 or 17 when overclocking ? they don’t scale at 15
Hi thanks for the comment, and the tip!
I did in fact try 16, but not 17 when overclocking. Unfortunately, due to time constraints we don’t get to test the RAM as vigorously as we’d like when overclocking, I still have this kit installed, so I may just try turning it up to 17, and report my findings, time allows.
Thanks again for your feedback.
