808 Audio Canz Bluetooth Speaker Review – Big Sound From A Little Can!

In recent years the market has become flooded with so many new forms of technology, especially when it comes to Bluetooth speakers. When you first start looking for a Bluetooth speaker how can you decide what to choose and how much to spend?  808 Audio has produced the Canz Bluetooth speaker, which goes to show you that there is still room for companies to make a difference in the incredibly competitive market.

DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

When you open up the packaging, the first thing you will notices is that the 808 Canz Bluetooth speaker has a bit of weight to it, which is perfect for when you are outside and it’s windy. Included in the packaging is a micro usb charging cable and 3.5mm line-in audio cable, which will allow you to plug your media device directly into the 808 Canz Bluetooth Speaker.

As you can see, the speaker has a sleek cylindrical design and takes up very little space. The speaker is located on the top of the cylinder.  Meanwhile on the underside, you will find the power switch.

When hooking up the 808 Canz Bluetooth speaker there are two options, the first is a line-in that can connect to your music player via the supplied 3.5mm cable. The Bluetooth was very easy to set up, simply activate the Bluetooth connectivity on your device and then hit the pair button next to the micro usb port on the front of the speaker.  Once the 808 Canz Bluetooth speaker appears, simply pair and connect! Now you are away to the races!

PERFORMANCE & QUALITY

One of the hardest parts of buying a Bluetooth speaker is knowing what the sound quality will be. When it comes to the Bluetooth distance, we found it gives you about 30 feet before the Bluetooth connection starts to cut out.  While testing the endurance of this bluettoh speaker, we found that the 808 Canz gave us almost 5 hours of listening time before cutting out.  From our test trials, we found that this speaker performed best with low bass songs, audio books and podcasts, set at approximately half volume. We next turned our attention to movie audio, we hooked the 808 Canz to a laptop via Bluetooth and watched a few movies. We were very pleased with the performance, as the audio quality was quite exceptional for such a small device. While listening to the speaker, either through Bluetooth or the 3.5mm audio cable, we found that if you turn the volume up above 80% you started to encounter a little bit of distortion, where the sound was not as crisp as it was at lower volume levels.
