One can argue that the most intricate sense in the human body is the ability to listen. HyperX has been in the business of peripherals for a while now and today we are greatful for the opportunity to review their new Cloud Alpha headset. As HyperX is the leading sponsor at the Intel Masters gaming competition in addition to sponsoring many pro teams. So, our expectations are fairly high.
Packaging, Contents, and Pricing
In very HyperX fashion, the Cloud Alpha has the iconic red and black theme to it. A square box with different angled pictures on every side comprises the exterior of the Cloud Alpha. Inside the exterior bow is another more professional looking silver on black fold up container. After opening the second box you get a view of the meat and potatoes here. Right next to the headset itself is the detachable microphone. A thank you note in addition to a manual/warranty card, express that HyperX really cares about the presentation of their products as well as the professionalism that comes wihtit. The packaging reminds me of a Ukrainian doll set with smaller dolls inside of bigger dolls. The final black box contains two cords and a black cloth carrying bag. One of the cords connects to the audio input on the motherboard as well as the microphone slot. The second cord connects to the headset, contains an in line audio control panel and connects to the first cable. We would give the packaging an “A”, for the care put in, which gives us a good feeling about the rest of our review.
HyperX’s Cloud Alpha can be found here for $99.99 USD on Amazon.

Game Time!
For being a stereo headset and competing against 7.1 surround sound headsets, The HyperX Cloud Alpha succeeds in every way. For the holidays we would strongly consider picking one up for the gamer in the family!
