MMO’s are known for amazing cinematic trailers and eye-popping animations, but the end product never quite lives up to the expectations. Hopefully that changes with The Elder Scrolls Online, an MMO that has been in and out of the scene for the past few years. After starting off as a rumour, there was finally a confirmation for a 2013 release. Unlike prior Elder Scrolls games that are developed and published completely by creator Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Online Studios steps in to develop a series that, until now, has solely remained a first-person single-player RPG experience.
The ~6 minute long video shows a large battle between three different factions in the fictional province of Cyrodiil – led by a warrior, mage, and thief respectively – which seemingly ends at the White Gold Tower. If this is anything to go by, the world PvP aspect will most likely be in the form of large-scale battles with factions fighting over territorial control (hopefully something along the lines of Mount & Blade).
Once you are done drooling over the video, make sure to register for a chance at the ESO beta launching later this year. Here’s hoping Bethesda can bring the hype their ESO trailer has produced!
