Thermaltake 3.0 Riing 360 RGB

With heat wave after heat wave hitting us, we find ourselves in search for an air conditioner or high RPM fan to cool ourselves down. If you think about a CPU as always having a heat wave you can understand the need for consistent cooling. Thermaltake has thrown their 3.0 Riing 360 RGB our way to see what its made out of and how much heat relief can be provided. We will also be using Thermaltake’s View 71 chassis to see if there is synergy between the two.

Packaging and Contents

One of the few companies to plastic wrap the cardboard packaging, Thermaltake has the right idea in adding in protective redundancies. The box has plenty to look at with almost all of the colors of the spectrum. You can almost guarantee this cooler will grab your attention almost instantly. After opening our “cool” package we were greeted by the classic cardboard mold with all parts in their own areas to prevent any movement during postage companies less than ideal package handling. The integral parts include the 360 mm radiator/pump, three 120 mm Thermaltake Riing RGB fans as well as an instruction manual and plenty of hardware and installation brackets. The radiator of Thermaltake’s 3.0 is quite professional looking and was actually bigger than we expected. Tubing seems like one of the strong points as well. On either side we see sturdy connections with braided rubber tubing to span the length between the two sides. We prefer the braided tubing to the flat rubber for the simple fact that it adds another layer of protective coating on an integral piece of the system. It’s copper plate looks checked out and once again we see a cooler with pre-installed thermal compound. As much as we like the ease of this, we need to stress that these companies include a small vial of paste for when you need to replace parts or switch things around. Our three fans, which will provide the radiator with constant air pressure, have an RGB ring around the circumference and are an upgrade to our standard blue Riing fans we have installed on our View 71. A controller comes with this cooler to provide a way to control the RGB/fan speed without using a third party motherboard software. As we mentioned before all the hardware you could need to install either an AMD or Intel system is provided.
