AKRACING’s Max Gaming Chair Review

The word comfort means: to be in a state of physical ease and free from pain or constraint. The more comfortable your seating arrangement is, the more time you can spend gaming or browsing Reddit. Today we are going to look at AKRACING’s new Max gaming chair to see where it fits on our comfort spectrum.

Packaging and Contents

Sitting at about 61 LBS we are not surprised to see a huge box to enclose the materials inside. It does come with some assembly required so you will receive a package like we did with hardware for construction. The smell that comes off the fabric is similar to that of a new car and makes it that much more exciting to eventually put this chair together. Both the seat and the back to the chair look professional, especially with the black and white color scheme that AKRACING has provided to us. This model comes in 4 other colors including blue, purple, red and black. For our future builds we chose these colors for their ability to match almost any RGB lighting. The wheels and base for this monster give off a warm fuzzy feeling as well. We see a very standard office chair wheel with the addition of a gel like surface to make movements feel smooth.  The base feels well-built with a very strong aluminum structure which ties into the reason this chair was built. The MAX is built for the larger gamer sitting at a max load of 400 LBS. Finally we see the addition of an out of the ordinary designed neck pillow. Instead of having the wishbone shape, AKRACING went with a more flat design. We are very curious to see if this makes a difference in comfort!

Assembly

First piece we will get a look at is the reflective appeal of the star shaped base.We started here from the ground up. The Chair wheels are a plug and play style with no need to turn any screws or bolts. From there we assembled the back rest to the seat.Both sides of the chair required 2 bolts and the opposite side required the installation of a plastic cover to cover up the not so beautiful looking metal.The latter side and where the recline lever was came pre-installed to make it easier on the builder. One of the heaviest parts of this chair is the piston assembly. We actually read the instructions wrong on the first attempt and found ourselves with a backward installation. This derived from the instruction manual being made for several models of chairs instead of just per chair.This mistake caused our chairs center of gravity to be wrong, however, we fixed this mistake promptly and without difficulty. We would like to see individual manuals in the future models. Back to the riveting assembly action. The last and probably most satisfying of the steps is to connect the piston to the upper and lower which gives you the first look at this beauty. The only other thing to do was add the ergonomic pillows and BOOM build complete.
