Corsair Hydro Series H150i Pro AiO Cooler Review

A few days back we took had our first look at the Hydro Series from Corsair, The 240mm H115i Pro. The results of which made us very happy and intensely looking towards the review of the H150i. The difference being the H150i pro is the upgraded radiator size, now boasting a 360 rad we are anticipatory of the results we see with this goliath.Packaging as you can assume the packaging for the H150i Pro is symmetrical to the H115i. Obvious changes being a larger box to hold the upgraded size. While the H115i comes with two 140mm fans the H150i comes with three 120’s, obviously this is necessary to support the 360 rad.

Extremely sharp and professional are seemingly parallel standards when dealing with the Hydro line of cooling components. Braided tubing with the rubber interior gives solace in knowing you don’t need to yourself with worrisome details you may be curious of with lower quality products.The pump is RGB backlit and colour is controlled through Corsair’s Link program. While the attachments on the pump are set up for Intel installation, the H150i is cross-compatible with AMD and comes with all necessary attachments for installation.

With The H150i Pro you will get three ML 120 fans which from our past experience are outstanding fans and should power this unit effectively.The copper base of the pump comes fitted with thermal paste, while we are starting to see this feature more often, it would still be good for the unit to come with a tube of thermal paste, for future installations or in the scenario where you need to remove the pump unit after installation for one reason or another.

Setup & Installation

Today we are going to be setting up the H150i Pro in our Corsair 570X chassis with our i7 7700K. If you wish to look into adjusting your build to some of our components, below is a list with direct links of today’s test bench!

Installation was simple with no major issues. There were only a few extra steps with this build to ensure proper functionality. The unit has a USB connector from the pump to the motherboard, as well the three ML 120 fans connect to adapters off the pump which are then powered via a SATA connector.

If you look close at the photo below you will see the braided tubes push right up against our RAM which made for a tight fit, but a fit none-the-less. The use of Corsair’s Crystal 570X made for a perfect fit for the H150i Pro. Lately we have found ourselves saying there is almost too much RGB out there in everything we install lately but with the size of the H150i Pro and having its three fans without that RGB ability we are kind of left feeling like they should be.As you can see we have added three more ML RGB 120’s to work as exhaust in the rear and on the top panel, we think the addition of three in the front of this build would have made it look that much more flashy.

Once your system is up and running you’ll want to install Corsairs link software which installation is very straight forward on and is up and running within minutes.As you can see it monitors all your systems components in a very functional and easy to use program. You can adjust your RGB settings for compatible fans through this program and came in quite useful during our testing. We used our rear exhaust fan in the “temperature” mode which changed the rear exhaust fan from green to yellow to red dependent on the temperature the CPU package was running at throughout the testing.
