Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 3.1 Unboxing

As summer progresses, so do the new products from Cooler Master. Today we are lucky enough to do an unboxing of the Masterbox Lite 3.1. This chassis is an improvement to the 3.0 while still keeping the smaller motherboard area. We can’t wait to take a look at this small chassis with big potential so lets dive right in.

Unboxing & Contents

Seeing as how boxes usually get banged up during transport or postal service, Cooler Master had a great idea to use large pieces of foam which covered the top and bottom of their Lite 3.1. We also noticed the care put in on the plastic window and front reflective panel. Both had a sticky adhesive tape to prevent from any unwanted scratches. The body of our 3.1 is very standard and includes a see through plastic window to show off your components on the main compartment side. Four thumbscrews mounted with rubber backings hold the transparent panel the the body.

The reverse side has a 2 thumb screw panel that hides the cable management area. This panel slides of and on very easily and has a surprisingly solid feel that would not be expected from the aluminium frame.  Located on the underside is a removable dust filter with four very sturdy rubber feet as well as mounting bolt holes for the internal drive bays. Now well start going into one of the best aesthetic features of our Lite 3.1. The front panel has a very cool design with a reflective plastic as well as red on black accents. The IO is very simple and is located on top of the front panel. Placement of the four connector ports and two buttons has a very clean look. One thing that felt a little odd was the size of the reset switch located on the left side of the IO. Our hands are by no means huge and it was suprisingly difficult to depress.
