Zagg Flex Arc Wireless Headset Review

Pepcom brought us in touch this year with many new products and companies. Standing out on an innovation front to us was Zagg. They introduced us to the Flex Arc Wireless Headset. Which will be available in February of 2016.PACKAGING & CONTENTS

Zagg has given us a fairly plain and basic packaging. Nothing really jumps out at you as far as design or colouring of the box. Predominately white with red the packaging, it is in our opinion geared to zero your sight in at the Flex Arc centered on the front.This is a set of headphones like we have never reviewed before and we can admit that had we not known what the product was, we’d be intrigued to grab it off a shelf just by the look of the unit itself. You’ll find some of the selling points of the Flex Arc at the bottom of the front side, such as it’s 13mm drivers and retractable earbuds.Around the backside you will see a picture of the Flex Arc in action. The man wearing the Flex Arc showing how it just blends right in with his attire and isn’t a big or bulky audio accessory. Also you’ll notice some of the selling points you saw on the front, in more detail on the backside. The packaging opens like a book and you’ll see your Flex Arc.Under the housing of the Flex Arc there is also a package with a manual, extra eartips and a micro-USB charging cable.

DESIGN

The interesting look of this product roped us in fairly quickly. The Flex Arc is a neck-wearable wireless sound system. Light and ergonomic design make this easily wearable all day without much notice of it even resting around your neck. Available in three colours we are reviewing the Flex Arc with a white body and gold buttons. The design becomes flexible as the body becomes thinner and is the most flexible at the base of the tapers around the neck. This is to allow easy wear for the user. A rubberized body allows a firm grip to the clothing or body while being worn. The forward ends of each side are patterned to give the Flex Arc a beautiful finish and add to grip. The Flex Arc when in an upright position will have the buttons facing up. The left side (when worn) shows two buttons, one gold and circular, which controls on/off also manual transition between headphone and speaker use. The button forward of that is white and its function is to retract the left headphone when it is extended out of the main body. Located directly on the underside of the top button you’ll notice the charging port which is your standard Micro-USB. On the right side (when worn) you’ll notice the same headphone retracting button symmetrically placed with the left ear. There is a button identical to the power button but on the right side it controls play/pause and voice command when held down. So, if you are using iOS as we are, Siri will be prompted. Finally the addition of two volume buttons forward and back of the play button make up your volume panel, respectively these two buttons turning the volume up and down.
