Nyrius Aries Home+ Wireless HD Transmitter Review

Today we will be taking a look at an outstanding product brought by our friends at NYRIUS. The ARIES HOME+. What is that you ask? Well, it provides a wireless HDMI transmission to anywhere in your home. Follow along to find out more.

PACKAGING & CONTENTS

The box itself is blue and white and as most products have some key features and the product displayed on the front. Around the back you’ll see a picture displaying the potential of the product itself through a clear image of a racing game on a large wall mounted TV. If you browse around the box you’ll find some more interesting facts about the product itself which will help you get it from the store shelf to your home. Such as the ARIES HOME+’S 100’ clear wireless transmission, zero latency and the ability to support 3D 1080p.Opening the box first thing you’ll want to do is ensure you have all the proper content. Along the bottom of the box you’ll see a “What’s included” section. This can act as your checklist and help you if you’re unsure of the contents. The Home+ comes with the Digital Wireless HD Transmitter, an External IR Remote Extender, a Digital Wireless HD Receiver, two 100-240V AC Power Adapters, a 5ft HDMI Cable, a Remote Control, four Screws and Anchors for easy mounting and of course the instruction manuals.If your box contains all of this you’re ready to move on to setting it up. The product has a nice slick black look to it with glossy faces and matte sides. There is a very nice visual and slender look to the unit, but for the price of this unit we would have rather hoped for something a little more rigid and with a little weight to it. That isn’t a huge deal though, the light weight plastic will save you some shipping costs if you’re purchasing online.

SET UP EASE

Today we will be using a 60” Samsung Plasma TV, a PlayStation 4, Telus TV box (cable box) and the Aries Home+ Wireless Transmitter on the second floor. On the first floor we will be using a 45” Sony LCD TV and the Aries Home+ Wireless receiver and Remote. The TV set up’s are on opposite sides of the house as well, Giving us roughly 40’-50’ distance between the Transmitter and Receiver with multiple walls, ceilings, etc.The first thing to do is hook up the Telus box’s and the PlayStation’s HDMI plugs into the Transmitter. There are only two input slots and then above those a loop-in spot to put a spare HDMI cord to plug the transmitter directly into our Samsung TV. This will give us a perfect picture and audio to compare with the Sony downstairs when we are testing. Finally we will set up the IR extender. Simply plug it in the back of the transmitter and then place one of the IR heads 5 to 10cm in front of the IR Sensor of your device. In our case that is the Telus TV Box.

Next we went downstairs with the Home+ wireless receiver and a HDMI cable. Simply plug the outlet and HDMI cord in the appropriate place and it’ll start loading. It took about 30 seconds for the initial connection. If you own a projector this is the perfect product to help you eliminate all those cables you have to run through your walls and ceiling. The Home+ comes with wall screws and anchors so this would fit perfectly on the ceiling alongside your projector.
