Starting a new build? Maybe you are looking for an intense gaming rig to play your games in 4K, or maybe you are looking for a budget build that lets you find that happy balance between performance and quality. A good place to start is with our graphics card today, the XFX R7 370 Double Dissipation.
WHY DO I WANT A GRAPHICS CARD?
We posted an article describing the who, what, when, where, why and how of graphics cards. If you are new to the graphics card market and are looking to further your knowledge of graphics cards then we encourage you to start your journey there. Simply put, a graphics card is a dedicated piece of hardware that is situated in the PCI Express bus interface found on your motherboard. This powerful device supplies a dedicated source of processing power to generate the graphics that will fill your monitor with exceptional 3D quality.
PACKAGING, PRICING AND SPECIFICATIONS
The XFX R7 370 Graphics Card comes in a designed grey package, where the front showcases a brief overview of what you will find on the inside. The backside of the packaging gives you a brief outline of its main features.
This non-reference card features a custom designed cooler by XFX known as Double Dissipation, which we touch on more late. The graphics card consists of a 995MHz base clock, which is a little higher than the reference specifications of 975MHz. It also features 4GB of GDDR5 memory, a 256-bit memory interface, and an effective memory clock of 5600 MHz.
The card is based on the AMD Radeon R7 370 Pitcairn GPU core which was released in October of 2013, according to GPU-Z. Inside the packaging you will find the graphics situated in its foam resting place, one 4-pin to 6-pin adapter and installation manuals.
The XFX R7 370 4GB Double Dissipation graphics card can currently be purchased for $179.99, which is right on mark for comparing to other R7 370 graphics cards. If anything this card may be slightly cheaper than other manufacturers.
Wow, the card is too old for today’s use. That is why I always read comments like “Nvidia is much better”. Surely, this is because AMD GPUs are very power hungry and old.
I nany case, I am still thinking of this card for my computer, pc24.de offers it for as much as 155 euros, so it’s not a costly option.
Just installed it….headset next,,.. Remains to be seen and discussed….
