G.SKILL Shows RIPJAWS Memory, Storage & Peripherals – Computex 2015 Update

Continuing with our adventures through Computex this year, we made our way over to the G.SKILL booth, where we were introduced to, not only, a bunch of products, but a whole load of new products! This was very exciting to see! We were shown DDR4 memory, a PCIe SSD, two gaming headsets, gaming keyboard and mouse and, to end things off, a new PSU line.

To start things off, we were first shown G.SKILL’s Trident Z series DDR4 memory. This extremely sharp looking memory was placed in a X99 board running at 3666 MHz and a timing of CL18-18-18. Depending on which side of the memory you are looking at, you either see brushed aluminium or a blackened rendition.

Next on our stops was the Phoenix Blade X SSD. This PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD features a Phison PS5007-E7 controller, and is listed to reach read speeds of 2600 MB/s and write speeds of 1400 MB/s. It is also expected to reach capacities ranging up to 2TB. There was no word on pricing or availability.

Taking a look at the backside, this model was boasting Toshiba NAND and a Nanya DRAM module.

Next up was a new introduction to G.SKILL, the RIPJAWS SR910 and SV710. Both of the gaming headsets features 7.1 surround sound, while one does so virtually (SV710) and the other through real 7.1 surround sound. Both headsets feature environmental noise cancellation, have large over-ear earcups and a soft leather headband. The SR910 features an Instant Access Audio Controller, where the SV710 has an inline remote control. Both of which also featured RED LED illumination in the ear cups and are distinguishable by the red outline found on the SR910.

As we progressed through their booth, we were next introduced to their RGB mechanical keyboard and laser mouse. The keyboard (RIPJAWS KM780) features brown cherry switches, and was very smooth to the touch. The keyboard was extremely durable and heavy duty, well equipped for any hardcore gamer. Conversely, the RGB gaming mouse (RIPJAWS MX780) was extremely light.

Lastly, we were shown G.SKILL’s new PSU, the RIPJAWS PS1250P. The latest 1250W PSU boasts a 80 Plus Titanium rating and, as we are told, G.SKILL PSU’s boast no less than a gold rating.

Available in four varieties, the RIPJAWS PS750G/PS850G models, which are certified with 80 PLUS Gold rating, along with the PS850P/PS1250P models, certified with 80 PLUS Platinum rating. All PSU’s are built with Japanese capacitors and feature an automated G.SKILL ECO Optimized (GEO for short) thermal fan control, which will reduce fan noise to zero during low levels of load operations.
