When it comes to PC gaming, the most important part of your system is easily your graphics card as it actually renders the game, a better graphics card means better gaming performance. However, for many gamer’s the second most important component will be your mouse. A quality gaming mouse can be the difference between pulling off a clutch head-shot to secure the win, and missing your mark all together.
Which is why we are very pleased to be given the opportunity to check out Cougar’s all new M600 gaming mouse, featuring 8-programmable buttons, full RGB backlighting and an 8200 DPI sensor.
COUGAR M600 SPECIFICATIONS, PACKAGING AND PRICING
On the front of the box we’ll find some of the basic specifications, the mouse features an 8200 DPI sensor, 32-Bit ARM processor with 512KB of dedicated memory and 8 buttons which can be re-mapped using Cougar’s UIX software. It is also priced at $59.99.
At the rear of the box we’ll find some more detailed information, the mouse buttons use Omron Gaming Switches that are capable of lasting up to 5 million clicks. We also have on the fly DPI adjustment, multi-color profile backlight, a dedicated 45 degree ‘Sniper‘ button among other features.
Opening the fold-out flap, reveals the mouse encased in a plastic shell. This is a packaging decision we feel is very helpful when it comes to mice, as it allows the user to see if the mouse will fit in their hands before purchasing, if in a store that does not have a demo unit available.
It’s also worth noting that while our review sample is bright orange, it also comes in a much more subtle black, for those of you that are worried it might clash with the rest of your gear.
Inside the box along with the mouse, we’ll find a small packet containing the instruction manual and some nice Cougar stickers, you can slap on your case, laptop or whatever your heart desires. Not a whole of accessories, but that’s to be expected with a mouse of this price.
