Crucial, a division of Micron Technology and a leading producer of solid-state drives (SSDs) and DRAM modules, is announcing its Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory modules. These new DDR4 modules increase memory bandwidth up to 24GB/s, nearly double the bandwidth of standard DDR3 memory. The Ballisitx Elite series are designed with extreme enthusiasts, gamers and overclockers in mind — those who want to squeeze every possible ounce of performance from their systems.
The Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory modules are built for maximum gaming performance, and include thermal sensors that work in conjunction with Crucial’s Ballistix M.O.D. (Memory Overview Display) utility to provide real-time temperature monitoring during overclocking. The M.O.D. utility can be downloaded here.
The Ballistix Elite modules are of an extruded metal design with an aggressive anodized aluminum heat spreader to improve heat dissipation. The Ballistix Elite modules utilize a custom-designed black PCB, and an XMP profile to simplify configuration.
Crucial’s Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory modules are optimized for Intel’s newest X99 platforms, and support Intel XMP 2.0 profiles. They are available in single 4GB and 8GB modules, as well as in dual-channel and triple-channel kits of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory offers introductory speeds of 2666 MT/s and 3000 MT/s.
Crucial tests every single Elite module in its own Systems Compatibility Group to ensure reliability. The Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory modules are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. The Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 memory product page can be viewed here.
