Stopping by the nVIDIA booth at E3, we played around with the Shield, nVIDIA’s upcoming handheld Android system.
Attached to a console-grade controller, the 5″ 720 retinal quality multi-touch display is quite stunning, and makes browsing through the system fluid alongside the powerful performance provided by the Tegra 4 – the custom 72-core NVIDIA GeForce GPU Quad-core ARM A15 CPU.
With 802.11n 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi connectivity, streaming from nVIDIA’s GRID cloud gaming servers provided a seamless gaming experience. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings the entire package nicely together, and we certainly are excited to see how far the nVIDIA Shield goes.
