ATTO Disk Benchmark is a relatively easy-to-use benchmark tool, which happens to be the benchmark of choice for many manufacturers. ATTO uses compressible data rather than random data, which results in higher performance and thus, higher benchmark scores. In our testing, we have selected the transfer size to range from 0.5KB to 8192KB, and have set the total length of the test to be 256MB.
SINGLE INTEL 730 SERIES SSD
TWO INTEL 730 SERIES SSDS IN RAID 0
ATTO accurately demonstrates the superior quality of the Intel SSD 730 Series, as we can see the increasing performance as the benchmark moves through file sizes. Additionally, we can see this superiority in the 8K file size transfer, as the read and write speeds are already at SATA 3 performance. When the Intel SSD 730 Series is placed in RAID 0, we see reads of 1102MB/s and writes of 994 MB/s.
CRYSTAL DISK BENCHMARK VER. 3.0.3 x64
Crystal Disk Benchmark is visually straightforward, and is used for measuring the speeds at which your storage device reads and writes in both compressible (oFill/1Fill) and random, mostly incompressible, data. Random data is more consistent with everyday use of a computer, such as transferring videos, pictures and music. We ran the benchmark twice, using oFill data first, and then proceeding to test with random data, but the results returned with nearly identical scores, so we have only included the results for random data samples. On the left you will see the random data transfer samples results of a single Intel 730 Series SSD, and on the right two Intel 730 Series SSDs in RAID 0.
Crystal Disk Mark shows us slightly lower data transfer speeds, which of course is expected with the change from using compressible to incompressible data. Regardless, both results are a little bit lower than our liking, however this is understandable as TSSDR has already ripped them apart.
AS SSD Benchmark uses incompressible data to test your storage device, essentially providing results that would be consistent with using the heaviest workload, thus lower speeds are expected. Transfer speeds (MB/s) are seen in the left picture below and IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) are the right.
SINGLE INTEL 730 SERIES SSD
TWO INTEL 730 SERIES SSDS IN RAID 0
The single Intel SSD 730 Series drive demonstrates increased sequential read speeds, but our write speed is still lower than our liking, yet still producing a Total Score of 1054. The performance of the RAID 0 set up provides an excellent demonstration of the increased performance, with the sequential read speed reaching 980 MB/s and write reaching 913 MB/s, for a Total Score of 1491.
Another interesting feature of the AS SSD Benchmark is that it also can test sample durations and speeds of copying various files, this is an important test for our digital media professionals who require such superior performance.

TWO INTEL 730 SERIES SSDS IN RAID 0
The copy benchmark provides an excellent representation of how each set up of the Intel SSD 730 Series would perform when transferring ISO’s, using programs and games. Both as a stand-alone drive and in a RAID 0 setup, the Intel SSD 730 Series provides us with good duration results.

A Prized Thoroughbred!
The Intel SSD 730 Series provides users with a high quality drive that can achieve excellent performance and has the endurance to last for many years. All of which is accompanied by an excellent price point, which makes this drive well deserving of the Technology X Top Value award.
In games like Battlefield 4, a RAID 0 configuration would probably be a benefit. I have a 128GB Toshiba SSD, I was going to make a RAID 0 with it. I have read many articles where they get almost 100% speed increase in a RAID 0. I have a 2GB RAID 0 with two Samsung F3’s for my games. My OS is on my 128GB SSD with Battlefield 4. My goal was always to have two RAID 0’s eventually. Because of large files, movies, games, music etc. there is a still a place for the magnetic drives.
SSD’s are becoming less and less expensive, it’s only a matter of time until they are equally priced to match magnetic drives.

Kyttä: Jos kaverisi tulee sanomaan, että hänellä on pilveä josta pitää päästä eroon, mitä teet?
Kaveri: Pyydän, että antaa minulle.
Kyttä: No mitäs sä sillä tekisit?
Kaveri: Myisin.
Kyttä: Sehän on rikos! Tiedätkös mitä siitä seuraa?
Minä: Ei mitään, jos ei jää kiinni.
