Today we have the privilege of upgrading our Z77 test bench to include the be quiet! Straight Power 10 600W Power Supply.

PACKAGING, PRICING AND SPECIFICATIONS

Classified under be quiet!’s premium product line, the Straight Power 10 power supply is designed just for that, a straight forward intention. The packaging keeps the motive as it includes a quick image of the power supply, along with a brief look at the key features and specifications.

Once we open the packaging we get to see the goodies that come along with the power supply, which includes seven cables, a 1.5m power cable, zip ties and the user manual. The seven cables include ATX-Mainboard, a P4+4 CPU, four PCIe 6+2 pin GPU, and an all-in-on SATA, PATA and FDD cable. All of which feature black braided sleeving.

At the time of writing this article, the Straight Power 10 is listed for $155.88. As shocking as this is, we kept looking and found the price on Newegg to be $109.90. By any means, for a 600W power supply, this is pricey.

be quiet! reports that this 600W power supply has a peak power of 670W, with its stable four 12V-rail design. They say it is virtually inaudible as it uses a Silent Wings 3 fan, along with a funnel-shaped fan opening for higher airflow intake.

We are told that this power supply would be an excellent option for advanced multi-GPU gaming, extremely silent pc builds, a HTPC or a photo/video editor. We would pretty much agree with all of these statements, except one requires a little clarification. be quiet! outlines that this power supply is capable of AMD CrossFire, but upon looking in the specifications on their website, it shows that it is not Nvidia SLI certified.

DESIGN OVERVIEW

The Straight Power 10 is fairly average in terms of build size, as it is 160mm in length, 150mm in width and 86mm in depth. This power supply features a industry standard honeycomb grille that sits beside the power switch and power input.

One one side of the power supply, you will find the be quiet! logo stamped into the black aluminum housing. On the flip side, you will find the specifications of the power supply.

The front side of the power supply showcases the semi-modular design. The motherboard 24 pin connector is situated towards the left side, while walking to the right shows the 12V P8 connection, four IDE/SATA ports and two PCIe ports.
